Media Movie Magic was created by Matthew R. Lawrence, a professional actor with ten years of industry experience. He is easily recognizable from his roles on Canadian television and film, theatre and countless commercials.

But the acting world can be very fickle at times and it was during one of these moments that Mr. Lawrence created the Canadian Improv Showcase, a professional touring company that specializes in Canadian comedy. The troupe was an instant success and it wasn't long before the group expanded into the area of educational workshops (due largely to the fact that Mr. Lawrence married a teacher). These workshops grew into a great selection of programmes which has seen the group travel to over 200 schools across Ontario.

Recently, as Mr. Lawrence was visiting a school in York Region, he realized how today's educators were adapting to the world of technology, incorporating more that just computers into the fold but also exploring media in a wide variety of ways. This gave Mr. Lawrence an idea: why not offer students the opportunity to create a film of their very own? Give kids the opportunity to learn the joys of film making from all angles. And Media Movie Magic was born!
